The Press Conference Was MAd!

This morning we went to the DaDA museum in Ein Hod to the press conference that was organized for Artist Proof, the international symposium that we attend this week.

It was meant to be a dadaist event. We surprised the media (the very few who came) and the orther guests by standing in a line and talking all of us at the same time (about twenty or so artists), so that it was difficult to understand any of us. Of course Nechana Levandel, one of the organizers, made a brief announcement before all the chaos began, explaining how she and Nadav Bloch came up with the idea of Artist Proof last year when they participated in a similar event which was held in Spain.

We were pretty much ignored by the major media here in Israel, and I feel that its a shame that they don’t give a damn on real Israeli culture heroes like the artists who initiated this event to help attract more culture-driven tourists to this country and make it known not only for its disputes and its corrupt leaders, but for also for the open minded free spirits who live here and make this place even more beautiful and holly. We could sure use some culture in this country which is not instant like the “artists” from the stupid Idols show.

Afterwards there was a nice cocktail party in the Argentinian restaurant across the museum. I met many interesting people and had a nice time. When that was over we went back to Nadav and Nechamas’ gallery to
