The Great Dictator

Omer Golan The Great Dictator.jpgIs Omer Golan The Great Dictator?

“I’ll do the stupid thing first and then you shy people follow…” FZ

The Great Dictator. Could it be ME???

Some people are bothered when I say all kind of anti democratic statements, like the one about that NOT all people should be allowed to vote. Some think that I am crazy.

So there you go. My dictator mustache. I’m half Iraqi and half Russian so I have excellent dictator gens from both sides. I’m made for the job. Plus, both my grandfathers had a glorious mustache.

Do not worry… I got rid of it.

:!:

A lot of excitement today. We had been touring Haifa all day with Nadav Bloch and Nechama Levandel (link to their site is on the blogroll on your right) who are both artists and relatives. We went to see the exhibition space in Castra, which looks great. Not the louver great – but still very nice. I’ll be happy to exhibit “Elements” there for the first time.

Than we went to a place called Pyramida, which is a center for contemporary art. We met there a few very nice people and had a very interesting chat with the artist Yaakov Hefez. We exchanged books, and he gave a complete tour in his studio that is located inside the Pyramid. I must confess (well I don’t – but I think confessions help attract more readers! ) that I felt a little envy. He did some great landscaping, and got to put some nice sculptures of his out there, in many public spaces. I can’t wait to see my own works in some street corner somewhere. Making people stop in the middle of their walk, and observe and smile. I’ll do that in one of these days. So many visions so little time.

The person who stands up and says, “This is stupid”, either is asked to`behave’ or, worse, is greeted with a cheerful “Yes, we know! Isn’t it terrific!” FZ .

Till next time -

probably tomorrow.

Omer
